Ken Wade became Director of Electric Systems at Greenville Utilities in 2026. He joined GUC in 1989 as an Instrumentation Tech in the Water Resources Department before transferring to the Electric Department. He moved up through the ranks and played a major role in GUC’s control systems, substations, and distribution system. Ken was named Assistant Director in 2020. Prior to arriving at GUC, Ken worked at AT&T and Mitsubishi Semiconductor.
Ken has an Engineering Technology degree and has held an electrical license since 1991. He has served on the board of the North Carolina Association of Municipal Electric Systems (NCAMES) and coordinated GUC’s mutual aid efforts across the state and the country for many years.
