You can make current and past due bill payments by phone, 7 days a week. A dedicated toll-free telephone number with automated technology is available 24-hours a day. Call 1-844-507-3636. You can also make credit/debit card payments at both of our customer offices (and drive-thrus) as well as when you log in to My Account.
Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express are accepted. A transaction fee is charged for this service, which goes directly to the vendor and credit card company:
Credit Card Tiered Transaction Fees:
$2.25 per transaction up to $500.00
$4.50 per transaction from $500.01 - $1,000.00
$8.00 per transaction from $1,000.01 - $10,000.00
Greenville Utilities does not receive any of the transaction fees. These are merchant fees charged by banks to help defray the processing costs along with the costs of extending credit.
BEGINNING November 1, 2026:
The vendor GUC uses to help customers pay with a credit card has notified us that their transaction fees will increase starting November 1, 2026.
GUC accepts credit cards for your convenience. Credit card companies and the vendors that process the payments charge a fee for each transaction. The fee is collected by the vendor and shared with the credit card company. GUC does not set these fees or receive any portion of them.
GUC regrets having to pass along the increased fees to customers and will explore options in the weeks and months ahead to help reduce credit card processing costs for our customers.
Beginning November 1, customers paying with Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express will be charged the following:
Transactions up to $700 will be charged a flat fee of $3.49.
Transactions above $700 will be charged 2.59% (example: a transaction of $700.01 will result in a total charge of $718.14). Also, the previous single transaction limit of $10,000 will no longer apply.
To avoid these fees, GUC recommends customers pay their bills online using their bank account information, through the mail with checks, or at our offices with cash or check.
