7 hours 55 minutes ago ❗️ WATER CUSTOMERS ❗️ Greenville Utilities is experiencing higher than normal water demand due to a number of weather-related water leaks, primarily at residential homes. ✅ We ask that you check your plumbing for any possible leaks that may have occurred due to the extreme cold. 🌡️ Now that temperatures are rising and warm air is moving through crawl spaces, these broken pipes are starting to gush water and placing a huge demand on GUC’s water system. GUC is asking all customers to take a few moments today to stop, look, and listen. ➡️ More information on how to find a leak and what to do about it is on our website https://bit.ly/4kaCFt2. If you suspect or have a leak, please call our Hotline at 1-855-SOS-2GUC (1-855-767-2482). 1 day ago 💙 A heartfelt thank you to our employees and customers for really coming through! We say all the time that we have the best customers, and it truly showed with how well you all responded to our request to cut back a little on energy usage these past 24 hours. It’s one thing for us to see our crews out there battling the weather to keep the utilities going. It’s another to see you all step up and do your part to stabilize the grid. 💙 Also, a big shoutout to employees from our water and wastewater treatment plants, electric crews, gas crews, water/sewer distribution crews, and our operations support group for sharing photos and videos they shot (safely) while working around the clock during and after the storm. 📸 Check out our story feed for some videos. OUTAGE ALERT - We do currently have customers in the Westhaven subdivision experiencing an outage due to a blown fuse. Crews are having to energize transformers to ID the issue. UPDATE 9:16pm - Crews are still working hard. This is an underground area, so it’s harder to ID and fix, especially with the snow. It's anticipated to take at least another hour. UPDATE 9:40pm - Westhaven has been restored. If you’re in Westhaven and still experiencing an outage, please give us a call. Stay safe!
