Greenville Utilities’ Finance Department earned three awards from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the 2025 Fiscal Year. Earning all three awards is a rare accomplishment and is celebrated as the “Triple Crown.”
For the 17th consecutive year, Finance earned the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting which recognizes financial reports that demonstrate transparency and full disclosure beyond generally accepted accounting principles.
For the 10th consecutive year, Finance earned the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award, recognizing GUC’s production of high-quality budget documents that reflect GFOA’s best practices and guidelines.
For the 11th consecutive year, the Finance Department earned the Popular Annual Financial Reporting (PAFR) Award. This award recognizes how GUC was able to adapt the annual financial report into a shorter, accessible, and easily understandable document, creating an ease of use for anyone who wishes to review the information.
There were only 19 recipients who earned this distinction in the state this year and only 430 nationwide.
“These recognitions reflect GUC’s strong commitment to transparency, accountability, and clear financial communication,” said Amanda Wall, GUC’s Controller. “They also highlight the professionalism and dedication of GUC’s Finance Department staff who devote countless hours to produce high-quality financial reports. They also reflect the steady leadership of GUC’s General Manager’s Office, Management Team, and Board of Commissioners, whose support makes achievements like these possible.”
