Under State law (North Carolina General Statute 132-1), the content of the GUC Alert program is public record and is “the property of the people.” The public may inspect, copy, and download public records and public information at no or minimal cost unless the law indicates otherwise. 

During the use of the GUC Alert SMS program, some non-personal data concerning the user’s usage may be automatically collected. This information may include, but is not limited to, the following:

  • The Internet domain and IP address from which this website was accessed
  • The type of browser and operating system used to access this website
  • The date, time, and length of the visit
  • The web pages visited
  • The website visited before this website 

This information may be used to respond to inquiries, provide a specific service to the user, or enhance the user’s experience to this program. GUC does not sell this information to any third parties. This information is managed in accordance with North Carolina General Statute 132-1. 

GUC does not collect any personal information from children.
