For the seventh year in a row, Greenville Utilities is helping provide relief from the upcoming winter’s cold for some local residents by donating 150 blankets to the Pitt County Council on Aging.
"We've had a few chilly days and cold nights this fall, including this past weekend, and know more consistent winter temperatures are just ahead,” said Scott Mullis, Director of Customer Relations of Greenville Utilities. “We always suggest to our customers to set their heat to the lowest comfortable temperature possible to save on home energy costs during the winter months, and blankets are an economical way to get some relief from any chill in the air and lower that thermostat even more.”
GUC Energy Services and Customer Relations employees delivered the blankets to the Pitt County Council on Aging at their annual holiday celebration on Tuesday, December 9, at the Council on Aging office. Anyone interested in receiving a blanket should contact the Council on Aging at 252-752-1717.
