Energy Saver North Carolina is a fairly new state program that uses rebates to assist families with upgrades to make their homes more energy efficient. This is not a GUC program, but we want to make our customers aware of it.
The program is a coordinated effort to make homes healthier and more efficient, strengthen our electric grid, support quality jobs, and build a future-ready energy economy that benefits everyone across the state.
Energy Saver North Carolina is federally funded through the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 and administered by the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality Energy Office.
The two rebate options for Energy Saver NC are Homeowners Managing Efficiency Savings (HOMES) and Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR).
The HOMES option is available for eligible residents, offering financial help through rebates for energy efficiency upgrades, such as insulation, air sealing, and upgrading heating and cooling systems.
The HEAR option is available to eligible residents to assist in installing new, efficient electric equipment and supporting upgrades, such as electric panel, wiring, or insulation and air sealing.
Both options offer rebates based on the income level of the applicant. All application information can be found at www.energysavernc.org.
