It made my day!” 3 days ago 📣 TRAFFIC ALERT June 28th - we anticipate that the second of our two new liquified natural gas cryogenic tanks, measuring 13 feet in diameter and 116 feet long, will be transported via truck this Saturday. The tanks are for the Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) Plant expansion. During the weekend of June 20, the tanks were slowly lifted off the railcar near Gum Road, and the first tank was transported along US Highway 264 at about 3 mph, eventually stopping at the LNG plant on Old Pactolus Road. The second tank is anticipated to be transported on Saturday, June 28. This will require some closing of lanes and rerouting of traffic during the move, which is done in coordination with the North Carolina Department of Transportation. The roads impacted will be Gum Road, North Greene Street, NC Highways 11 and 33, Old Pactolus Road, and the intersection of Greenville Boulevard and US Highway 264. 4 days 6 hours ago Recently, Energy Services Officer Jonathan Sergeant visited seniors at the Pitt County Council on Aging’s 5th Street location to share practical energy-saving tips—perfect for both the summer heat and year-round use. We’ll share summer energy saving tips throughout the week - but encourage you to visit our website for more tips. http://bit.ly/2KneIkh Thermostat Tip: Keep in mind how hard your AC must work to keep your home cool while outside temps rise. See graphic. To help out your system (and your wallet), set your thermostat on the highest comfortable setting. We recommend 78 degrees or higher. Remember, every degree above 78 will save you about 4% in cooling costs. If you’re not going to be home for an extended period, raise your thermostat to 80-82 degrees. 1 week 2 days ago >>> UPDATE 6/23: One tank was successfully moved over the weekend but took longer than expected.
