Pitt County in Moderate Drought
The latest report by the U.S. Drought Monitor shows Pitt County is experiencing a moderate drought. According to the report, about 97 percent of North Carolina is experiencing some sort of drought conditions, with the worst in the western portion of the state. That number is up from 65 percent last week when Pitt County was classified as abnormally dry.

There are currently no water restrictions for Pitt County, but GUC recommends using water-saving practices. The following links contain more information:
