GUC Receives Awards of Excellence 

Greenville Utilities received the following Awards of Excellence at the ElectriCities of North Carolina Annual Conference held August 11-12:

Economic Development Award – for initiatives in industrial recruitment leading to job creation and implementation of economic development studies.  

Customer Service Award – recognizes outstanding customer service efforts, including programs such as medical alert, bank draft and energy efficiency options. 

Communications Award – recognizes outstanding customer communications, including the use of innovative strategies to communicate policies, and the development of a coordinated communications plan. 

Key Accounts Award – for efforts to connect with Key Account customers, including advanced training by Key Accounts Representatives, implementation of a Key Accounts business plan, communications with key accounts customers, and locally-sponsored events. 

Training Award - recognizes a commitment to ongoing staff education, completion of a tuition reimbursement program and in-house training opportunities.  

Energy Efficiency – for energy efficient building programs, energy education, energy audits and participation in NC Green Power.

ElectriCities is an organization that represents cities, towns and universities that own their electric distribution systems. Greenville Utilities is a member of this organization, along with more than 90 other members in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
