New Board Officers Elected

J. Freeman Paylor, Julie Carlson and Stan G. Eakins were recently elected officers of the Greenville Utilities Board of Commissioners.           

Mr. Paylor, Senior Vice President & Market President with TrustAtlantic Bank, was elected Chair. He served as Vice-Chair in 2009-10 and has been a Board member since 2006.  

Ms. Carlson was elected Vice-Chair and previously served as Secretary in 2009-10. She has served on the Board since 2006 and is an Account Manager with DuPont Soy Polymers.  

Mr. Eakins was elected Secretary. He is the Associate Dean, College of Business
East Carolina University and has served on the Board since 2008. 

Greenville Utilities is owned and operated by the citizens of Greenville, and is governed by an eight-member Board of Commissioners responsible for approving rates, development plans, the annual budget, and setting policy that is carried out by the General Manager/CEO, Ron Elks. Board members serve 3-year terms, with a maximum of two terms. Commission meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Board Room of GUC’s Administrative Building located at 401 South Greene Street.
