New GUC Board of Commissioners Officers Elected

Lynn Evans, Lester Brown and J. Freeman Paylor were recently elected officers of the Greenville Utilities Board of Commissioners.

Mr. Evans, Builder/Developer, has served on the Board since 2003 and was elected Chair.

Mr. Brown, Owner of Hooker and Buchanan, Inc. Insurance, was elected Vice-Chair, and has served on the Board since 2003.

Mr. Paylor has served on the Board since 2006 and was elected Secretary. He is Senior Vice President & Market President with TrustAtlantic Bank.

Greenville Utilities is owned and operated by the citizens of Greenville, but is governed by an eight-member Board of Commissioners responsible for approving rates, development plans, the annual budget, and setting policy that is carried out by the General Manager/CEO, Ron Elks. Board members serve 3-year terms, with a maximum of two terms. Commission meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Board Room of GUC’s Administrative Building located at 401 South Greene Street.
