New GUC Board of Commissioners Officers Elected

Dr. Louis H. Zincone, Jr., Lynn Evans and Lester Brown were recently elected officers of the Greenville Utilities Board of Commissioners.

Dr. Zincone has served on the Board since 2002 and was elected Chair. He was the Associate Dean for Academic Programs in the School of Business at East Carolina University prior to his retirement.

Mr. Evans, Builder/Developer, was elected Vice-Chair, and has served on the Board since 2003.

Mr. Brown, of Hooker and Buchanan, Inc. Insurance, has served on the Board since 2004 and was elected Secretary.

Greenville Utilities is owned and operated by the citizens of Greenville, but is governed by an eight-member Board of Commissioners responsible for approving rates, development plans, the annual budget, and setting policy that is carried out by the General Manager/CEO, Ron Elks. Board members serve 3-year terms, with a maximum of two terms. Commission meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Board Room of GUC’s Administrative Building located at 401 South Greene Street.
