Freddie Martin Receives Industrial Pretreatment Award
Freddie Martin, Industrial Services Coordinator at Greenville Utilities’ Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), recently received the North Carolina Pretreatment Professionals Honor Roll award. This award is given annually by the Pretreatment, Emergency Response and Collections System (PERCS) Unit of the North Carolina Division of Water Quality to recognize an individual or program that exhibits consistent attention to detail in the administration of their Pretreatment Program. “This is a great honor for Freddie and the Pretreatment Program,” said Dan Tracy, GUC’s WWTP Superintendent. “It is satisfying when hard work and dedication are rewarded through recognition by the regulatory community, as well as your peers.”
Freddie coordinates GUC’s industrial pretreatment program, which monitors industrial discharges into GUC’s wastewater system. Requiring industries to treat and test their wastewater before it gets to the Wastewater Treatment Plant helps prevent problems with the treatment process.
