Application Process
- Applications are accepted for a position until the posted closing date.
- All applications are screened by Human Resources for accuracy and completeness.
- Applications from applicants that meet the minimum qualifications are forwarded to the hiring manager for review. The hiring manager will select the candidates for interviews and provide candidate list to the Human Resources office (usually two to four weeks after closing date).
- GUC will contact candidates by telephone to schedule panel interviews (teams of 4-5 staff members).
- The panel makes a recommendation to the Department Director. If the Director approves, then a recommendation is sent to Director of Human Resources and General Manager/CEO for approval. If both approve, then a contingent job offer is made to the candidate.
- Once the contingent job offer is made and accepted, the various background checks and pre-employment physical/drug/alcohol screenings are done.
- Once this information is received in the Human Resources office and the Director of Human Resources approves, then the recommendation goes to General Manager/CEO for final approval.
- Once the General Manager/CEO approves, then candidate is contacted by the Director of Human Resources and a start date is confirmed.
- The process normally takes six to eight weeks from closing date to hire date.
