The best time to get prepared for a storm is before it hits. Our Emergency Storm Plan is ready to be activated at a moment’s notice. During storms, this site will be updated to keep you informed.
Here are some links and information to help you get ready while the weather is calm.
- GUC’s 24-hour weather radar is there to help you keep an eye on approaching storms. You can view it on Cable Channel 64.

- NCReady.gov has information on preparing for a variety of disasters.
- The American Red Cross, Pitt County Chapter has information about preparing for disasters and volunteering to help. Visit them online at www.pittredcross.org or call 355-3800.
- If you have special needs, you can register for shelters and other resources through The REAL Crisis Center. Just call 758-REAL(4357) for details.
